Verifying your account with itsme: the full journey, from QR code to login
Want to verify your account with itsme but not sure where to start, or what happens once you press the button? Here is the journey as it actually unfolds at Crazy Dice, in the order you will go through it: activating the app, checking your details, signing up on a phone or a computer, and then logging in on the days that follow.
Wherever something might get stuck, you will find what to do, based on itsme's official guidance. If you are looking for the reasons to use the app in the first place, they are gathered on our page about the online casino with itsme.
Creating your itsme account before you sign up
It all starts outside the casino. The app is a free download from the App Store or Google Play, and it needs to be linked to your identity once. There are two ways to do that.
The quickest goes through your bank. If you bank with ING, KBC, CBC, Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, Fintro or Hello Bank, the app walks you through it and your bank confirms who you are. Otherwise, you activate it with your electronic identity card, which calls for a computer, a card reader and your eID PIN. And if neither option works for you, a Digibank can help you get set up.
You then choose a five-digit itsme code, with face recognition or your fingerprint as an option. It is a one-off: once active, the app works wherever it is accepted. The activation screens are explained on the official itsme website.
Updating itsme: address and identity card
The address we receive when you sign up comes straight from the app. If you have moved house or been issued a new identity card since activating it, update your details first: whatever address is stored in the app is the one that reaches us.
There are three ways to do it: on the official website, where a card reader reads your eID; in the app itself, by holding your card against the phone using its NFC chip; or at a Bancontact CASH machine. When your identity card is close to expiring, or already has, a banner in the app lets you know.
Signing up at Crazy Dice on your phone
On our sign-up page, choose the « Sign up with itsme » button. Your phone switches to the app automatically, and it shows which details are being requested: you always see what you are sharing, and nothing leaves without your consent.
You confirm with your code or your fingerprint, and the app sends you straight back to Crazy Dice. Your account exists and your identity is already confirmed: no form to fill in, no photo of your card to upload. The whole thing takes around thirty seconds.
From a computer: the QR code
On a computer, the same button brings up a QR code on screen. Open the app on your phone, scan it, then confirm just as you would on mobile.
So your phone stays essential, even when you play on a larger screen. It carries your identity, not the computer, and without it no confirmation can go through.
What information reaches us
When you sign up, the app passes on your identity and your home address. Anti-money-laundering rules require every licensed online casino to know these details, and to have verified them, before you can play. Along this route, they arrive already checked.
Your bank account does not go through itsme. It is checked later, when you request your first withdrawal, and nothing stops you from playing until then. Here is how a fast withdrawal works with us once that check is done.
Logging in with itsme afterwards
Once you are registered, the same app works as your key. Instead of typing a password, you pick this way of logging in and confirm on your phone, with your code or biometrics.
No password to remember, so no password to have stolen. The trade-off is simple: you need your phone within reach every time you log in.
Forgot your itsme code or changed phone?
A forgotten code cannot be retrieved, only replaced. In the app's security settings, block your account, then reactivate it with a new code. Alternatively, remove the app, reinstall it and go through activation again.
Phone lost or stolen? Block your account from the official itsme website, then reactivate it on your new device. There is no need to panic in between: the app only works with the combination of your phone, the app and your code, so the device on its own is no use to anyone.
If confirmation keeps looping on a computer, a few simple checks often sort it out: turn off any pop-up blocker, try a different browser and make sure the app is up to date.
When itsme won't go through: signing up manually
A bug in the app, a temporary outage, an activation that fails: in every one of these cases, manual sign-up remains open. You enter your details yourself, and your identity is then checked another way.
That route works, it simply takes a little longer, since the check has to happen before you can play. It is not a Crazy Dice quirk but the rule for every licensed operator, and here is why your identity is checked. If in doubt, our customer service answers seven days a week.
App ready and details up to date? All that is left is to discover Crazy Dice, the casino in Belgium where signing up comes down to a single confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
No. A single itsme account, activated once, works with every service that accepts it. Each sign-up stays separate, though: every time, you confirm which details you are sharing.
No. Your code stays in the app and is never passed on to us. We only receive the details shown on screen when you give your consent, namely your identity and your address.
According to itsme, the usual cause is a block on text messages from short numbers, set by your mobile provider. Check your network, ask your provider to lift that restriction, then restart the activation.
No. itsme only flags this inside its app. An email or text inviting you to update your details does not come from itsme: do not click any link in it.
You can try again after checking your app and your connection. If the problem persists, manual sign-up is still available, and our customer service can help you find what is blocking it.
